Update regarding the Milwaukee single trigger bandsaw used for the New St. Paul’s Hospital project.
We are committed to ensuring the highest safety standards for our workers. To further this commitment, we have replaced all 120 single-trigger bandsaws on the NSP project with dual-trigger bandsaws and tri-stands. This upgrade ensures that both hands are required to operate the bandsaw, significantly reducing the risk of injury by preventing one-handed operation.
In partnership with Milwaukee, we are also giving back to the community. We have donated our single-trigger bandsaws to Habitat for Humanity. These tools will be redistributed to third-world countries, providing essential resources where they are needed most.
To facilitate the transition to new equipment, Milwaukee conducted a live demonstration exclusively for Plan Group staff to ensure all team members are proficient in safely operating the latest power tools.
"It was a great opportunity for our workers to get some hands on practice with the new dual trigger bandsaws and to understand how the operate them"
- Rhona Julian, HSE Manager
"I find the new 2 handed bandsaws a weight off my shoulders I'm not worried about accidently triggering the bandsaw. The tool demo was a good opportunity to foster a discussion between crews & supervision about what tools might be useful to expedite our work"
- Tim Green, Apprentice
"It was good to see the available tools & learning some of the features they had the anti kick feature on the hammer drills for example"
- Anonymous Journey Person
Our team is now even better prepared with comprehensive knowledge of Milwaukee power tools, ensuring their continued safe and efficient use to deliver exceptional results.
