This Is How We Connect

We know asking for help isn’t always the easiest. One in three construction workers experiences poor mental health, higher than many other industries. In a physically and mentally demanding field like ours, self-care matters more than you think.
As we kick off Mental Health Awareness Month we reflect on this week's theme: the power of connection. The focus is on small, everyday actions and the role we all play in supporting mental health through how we show up for one another.
Social connection is key to overall health and wellbeing. At work, it helps people feel supported, reduces stress, and contributes to a healthier workplace. And it doesn’t have to be big or formal to matter, a quick check‑in, a coffee break, or a simple “How’s your week going?” can make a difference in someone’s day.

When connection is missing, people may experience isolation or loneliness. By building small moments of connection in and outside of work, we help create an environment where people feel seen, heard and more comfortable reaching out when they need support.
